STILA Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette: Review

I am always on the hunt for the perfect eyeshadow pallet and a few months ago I decided to try out the Stila Eye's Are The Window shadow pallet. Stila is an American cosmetics brand and I had yet to try any products from until this pallet fell through my letterbox after I ordered it online from Beautybay.com.

Stila have a collection of 4 eyeshadow pallet's under the Eyes Are The Window collection and each pallet is inspired by the spiritual idea that true beauty comes from within, each one has 12 luxurious eyeshadows to enhance your inner beauty. You can choose from Body, Mind, Soul and Spirit.

I have the Soul pallet which has a fantastic selection of neutral eyeshadows, mainly shimmer with 3 great matte shades to allow you to create a great look.

For £30 you will receive 12 extremely well pigmented eyeshadows inside a beautiful gold compact pallet with a large handy mirror. I think that the price of this pallet is fantastic considering you get 12 high quality shadows that work out at just under £3 each - a brilliant price when a single MAC eyeshadow can cost you over £10.

Inside the pallet you will find 12 eyeshadows, including Light, Individual, Being, Kitten, Affection, Character, Thought, Heart, Peace, Vitality, Substance and Essence. All of the shadows are extremely pigmented with a great pay off.

Light is a perfect vanilla base shade that every good eyeshadow pallet should have. This eyeshadow is good to use in a variety of different ways for example to set an eyeshadow primer, to be used all over the lid as a base or to use in the inner eye corner as a highlight.

Kitten is probably one of my favourite shades in this pallet (you can probably tell how much I love it because you can see that I have made a dent already). It is a beautiful rich rose golden shimmer which looks great pressed on the eye lid to give a show stopping look. This eyeshadow is extremely pigmented which is great although the only downside is that the formula is very 'powdery' which can be messy.

Thoughts is a classic deep brown with a slight shimmer. This is a great shade and is ideal to use in the eye crease to deepen up and add depth to an eye makeup. I would rather this shade be matte instead of shimmer however it still does the job and I use it regularly.

Vitality is a show stopping rich golden shimmer and has a similar formula to the shade Kitten which I mentioned above. Vitality is a beautiful eyeshadow which is perfect to use when creating a dramatic golden eye makeup- I love it.

Individual is a warm toffee brown that is perfect to use in almost every warm eye look. It can be used as a light transitional shade or swept all over the lid for an easy wash of colour.

Affection is a mid tone warm brown shimmer which I use a lot. I love this eyeshadow because it has a pink golden undertone and looks great on the centre of the eye lid or blended through the crease. The formula of this shadow is perfect- it has plenty of pigment without being too powdery.

Heart is a matte cool toned grey brown. I am disappointed with this shade and have yet to find much use for it. The pigment of this eyeshadow is unlike the rest in the pallet and has little pay off.

Substance is a cool grey shimmer- it is a fantastic unique shade. I like that this pallet has a good mix of both cool and warm eyeshadows which allows you to create a variety of different looks.

Being is a matte chocolate brown which I think is a great addition to this pallet. This shade can be used to deepen up the eye crease or washed all over the eye lid when creating a dark eye makeup.

Character is similar to Being but with a slight shimmer with gold flecks. The pigment of these eyeshadows is very good- they are easy to blend but aren't too powdery.

Peace is a red toned warm rich brown. I love this shade and it is perfect to use when creating a warm smoky eye.

Essence is a straight black shade with shimmer. I think that every good eyeshadow pallet should have a good black shade and unfortunately I am disappointed with Stila's Essence. I do not think that the pigment of this shadow is as good as some of the others in the pallet and I think that a matte black would have been a better option.

Overall I would reccomend the Stila Eyes Are The Window Soul eyeshadow pallet. I think that it is extremely good value for money and it has a fantastic selection of good quality eyeshadows leaving you with the possibiltiy to create a variety of different eye looks.

Have you tried this Stila eyeshadow pallet? What do you think? Let me know in the comments!
